Financial Advisor

While I was growing up, my dad worked for a very large financial services company. He was instrumental in their growth, so when I graduated from college it was suggested that I try a job in sales at one of their subsidiaries. I was a kid, really. I knew nothing about sales, and certainly nothing about financial services. But I’d been assigned to Michigan and Ohio, and failure was not an option.  Luckily I had a wonderful mentor, a good amount of grit, and a competitive spirit. I persevered.

What a relief it was when I discovered I was actually good at this! I fell in love with sales, and the industry became my home. In the ensuing decades I found my place in the world of finance. As a wholesaler, selling products to financial advisors across large territories, I had the freedom to structure my time according to the needs of my clients, the freedom to set the cadence of my own days and weeks. My success was purely contingent on my ability to connect with my clients and on the strength of my relationships.

Over the years, I’ve worked for some of the biggest names in the investment world. What brought me to Beck Bode was the prospect of leveraging three decades of connections and relationships I have cultivated, to help grow a new business, as part of a talented and energetic team. I no longer need to sell a product; instead, I have the opportunity to introduce advisors to something that’s truly unique. What sets Beck Bode apart is a methodology, an actual process that helps both advisors and their clients.  I can’t wait to share our vision with advisors who haven’t even considered that there may be an entirely different approach to investing.

My wife Colleen and I have three girls. Before they graduated and set up lives of their own our house was always full of people. Now that we are empty nesters, we still enjoy traveling and exercising- whether its walking on the beach or exploring places we have never visited.
