About Anthony

I joined the Beck Bode team as a Trader in 2022. I have been working in finance since I graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2014. An internship with a large national financial services provider confirmed for me that I wanted to work in and around money.

My first job out of school was with State Street, mostly on the banking side. I started out in an accounting role, then transitioned to private equities, and eventually found my way to another organization at the trading desk, supporting the head traders in execution and operations. That’s how I fell in love with trading: I have remained in this space ever since.

I think I have the attention for detail that you really need to have as a trader. I'm meticulous and like to double-or triple-check, my work. I enjoy following the markets, and over the years I have been exposed to just about every asset class there is.

Being a trader at Beck Bode allows me to do what I love in a collaborative environment. It makes a difference to have colleagues with whom you can connect. Even though I act behind the scenes, it also feels good to know that through my work I am helping our clients live more comfortably in the future, or that I am in some way supporting their goals.

Reading Dancing with the Analysts, the book that describes the Beck Bode investment strategies, was really fun! It lines up with how I have always thought about investing my own money –you need to know what to buy, when to sell and how to reinvest. So much of what’s in that book makes sense to me. It also confirmed for me the importance of building trust with clients. Without that personal connection, it’s impossible to guide people’s financial decisions.

I’ve always been a people person. I thought I would become a dentist, but a chemistry class ruled it out for me. Science was not for me. It’s good to know that I can still have an impact on people’s lives through my work. Mylong-termgoal is to pursue my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™designation (CFP®), so that I can also do financial advising.

CREDENTIALS AND OTHER TRIVIA

• By the end of a workday, I will have built up a lot of energy! I like to let off steam by working out daily, and by playing hockey.
• I am in the process of obtaining my real estate license.
