About Beth

My role has shifted since our team joined Beck Bode in 2022. While I continue to oversee operations at our Michigan office, I have embraced more client-facing responsibilities, including preparing for meetings, participating in them, and following up afterward. I find this aspect of my work increasingly rewarding.

Given the overall responsibility I have for day-to-day operations, as well as the amount of direct contact I engage in with them, I would say a (brief) and accurate description of my job is that I help ensure things run smoothly around here. This means tending to everything from client service to events, communications and much more.

For someone originally trained as a teacher, this is an interesting place to land. Before entering financial services, I spent my time teaching middle school math and serving as a school principal. I loved encouraging students to recognize their successes and see themselves as capable. I  find that I still enjoy making complex concepts accessible, by translating challenges into understandable solutions. When clients reach out with concerns or questions, I focus on finding solutions and presenting them in an approachable way. It's fulfilling to help clients, just as it was to support my students and fellow teachers.

I am passionate about navigating both the big picture and the finer details. Whether I am reading a map or solving puzzles, I focus on how to reach my goals while appreciating the journey. This approach reflects my life, encompassing my family, work, volunteering, and adventures. I thrive on engaging with the details while also contributing to our culture at Beck Bode, building relationships, and working towards our larger vision.

Bold and adventurous are words people have used to describe me. I try to deny that I’m competitive, but that, too, applies. I like to accomplish hard things, to learn new things and to push myself. In 2020 I recruited a couple of friends to peak three ‘fourteeners’, mountains above 14,000 ft in elevation, in a week.  It was breathtakingly beautiful and tough, and we did it!

My husband and I have three grown children, including a set of twins. Outside of work I love spending time with my family and volunteering with Young Life, a Christian youth organization. As a family we like to to spend time together adventuring in the outdoors or relaxing at my parents’ cottage. I think what I appreciate most about Beck Bode is this same commitment to family, health, and overall well-being.

CREDENTIALS AND OTHER INTERESTING FACTS
  • I have climbed two 14,000 ft peaks in one day
  • My commitment to strength training fuels everything else: I know that with regular strength training I will be strong enough to play pickleball, hike, bike, travel, and do all the things I love to do!
