My journey to Beck Bode has been anything but conventional. Right out of college, I wanted to join the FBI. I’d always been fascinated by federal law enforcement and even started the application process. When I learned that the FBI values accounting backgrounds, I chose that major, and along the way, discovered I genuinely loved the work. Later, when the opportunity to join became more real, I realized the lifestyle of constant travel and unpredictability wouldn’t align with my goal of having a family. Choosing accounting turned out to be the right decision, both personally and professionally.
I’ve always been drawn to tax work because it combines technical detail with real human connection. I enjoy digging into the numbers and solving complex problems. Over the years, I’ve worked in public accounting, a fast-paced startup, and large real estate development and investment companies. Working in different environments taught me to see the broader business picture and how everything connects. I’ve also learned that tax and financial planning really go hand in hand – understanding both helps me offer advice that’s not only accurate but meaningful.
What excites me most about my role at Beck Bode is that it brings together everything I value: building systems that improve the client experience, providing thoughtful guidance, and being part of a firm that truly values family. That balance between meaningful work and a rich family life is exactly what I’ve always wanted.
I live north of Boston with my wife and two young daughters, and we spend a lot of our time outdoors, enjoying the everyday moments that matter most. My wife and I are avid travelers who love exploring unique destinations. Our ‘pre-kids’ adventures took us to Scandinavia to see the Northern Lights, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. We can't wait to share our love of travel with our children in the years to come!
